Article 3(4) of the Constitution sets the language of court proceedings by the parties' community

Article 3(4) requires court proceedings to be conducted, and judgments drawn up, in Greek if the parties are Greek, in Turkish if the parties are Turkish, and in both if the parties are of both communities, with the Supreme Court's own rules under Article 163 governing every other case.
