Can a northern-resident citizen receive a salary, pay a bill or run a business through a bank in the Republic?
What the documents show
The Commission’s report covering 2025 records continuing account-opening difficulties for individuals and inability of Turkish Cypriot businesses to open accounts. It also identifies Turkish Central Bank restrictions as an additional obstacle. An individual basic-account entitlement does not establish access for a company.
