Access to worship across the Line
Do opening hours and crossing arrangements allow people to practise their religion?
What the documents show
OHCHR’s report covering 2024 records restricted prayer times at Hala Sultan Tekke because of civil opening hours. It also records UN-facilitated visits by almost 1,300 pilgrims from the north. Both the restriction and the facilitated access belong in the record (paragraphs 53–54). These are 2024 observations.
What the evidence still needs to answer
What are the current prayer hours, permission requirements and documented reasons for refused visits?
