Facts

Since the 1985 amendment, the House of Representatives has had 80 seats: 56 filled by the Greek Cypriot community and 24 reserved for the Turkish Cypriot community. The 24 Turkish Cypriot seats have been vacant since 1964, when Turkish Cypriot members ceased participating in the Republic's institutions.
