BANKING SUPERVISION

Central Bank reports 179 alleged-infringement reports in 2025

The Annual Report lists 14 reports concerning payment accounts with basic features and fees, while warning that the aggregate figures are not community-specific.

The Central Bank of Cyprus published its Annual Report for 2025 on 28 April 2026. The report records 179 reports of alleged infringements during 2025; 14 concerned payment accounts with basic features and fees, representing 8% of the total.1

The CBC says these reports can support targeted supervisory action and are separate from bank complaints and out-of-court dispute resolution. The figures are aggregate: they contain no Turkish Cypriot or north-resident breakdown and do not prove discrimination by a specific bank.1
